Brian Kirkpatrick, SRA, ASA has 10+ years of experience as a real property appraiser. Brian is a graduate Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication with a minor in English. Following graduation, he began his career as a Real Estate Appraiser associated with Jackson Land Partners Real Estate and Appraisal Services in 2008. In 2015, he became the sole owner of DFW Appraisals. In 2019 Brian earned the SRA designation through the Appraisal Institute and the ASA designation through the American Society of Appraisers. Brian carries the HMS (home measuring specialist) designation offered by Appraiser Learning which designates him to be an expert on consulting on the various square footage breakdowns on how improvements are viewed in the residential market place. He has appraised virtually all types of residential real estate. Typical assignments include appraisals and/or feasibility analysis on single family detached and attached, condo, 2-4 unit duplex, high-end luxury homes, rural housing on acreage, relocation, income producing properties, and vacant land for banks, lending institutions, mortgage companies, various government agencies, tax representation agents, developers, brokers, law firms, and individual clients.
Brian and his wife, Caroline, are proud parents of a beautiful daughter and live in Fort Worth. They are active in their community and volunteer time towards the Fort Worth chapter of Saint Jude that helps raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer awareness. Brian donates his time and talent to the American Guild of Appraisers (AGA) as a peer consultant and has been active with the Appraisal Institute Residential Roundtable development. He is also active in the Fort Worth real estate scene as an active partner with several organizations and business to help spread appraisal and valuation education for realtors, title agents, and lending institutions.
Matthew Hyatt is married to his wife Andrea and proud father of two beautiful children. He has been working in the appraisal industry for 19 years having worked in two different major metropolitan markets. He started his career working in New York for a large residential firm that completed a wide range of assignments ranging from co-ops to high-end luxury properties. He relocated to the DFW metroplex in 2004 and since dedicated his career to being an area expert and residential specialist. Presently a candidate for SRA designation working towards completing and earning this designation in 2019. Presently a member of the North Texas Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and serving as a co-chair of the residential committee. He presently owns Hyatt Appraisal Company, LLC in Dallas, Texas, a residential appraisal firm serving Dallas, Collin, as well as parts of Denton, Tarrant and Rockwall counties. HACo specializes in residential real property valuation and completes assignments for refinances, purchases, relocation, pre-listing, matrimonial matters, estates and tax protest. They complete appraisals on single family detached homes, singe-family attached townhomes, duplexes, condominium units, high-end luxury properties, as well as available for home measurement services. This multi-appraiser firm is approved by VA, FHA, USDA, and all other federally regulated agencies. Finally, HACo loves educating other market participants and are available for consultation services or “Lunch and Learn” presentations.
Jeffrey H. Harwell, CVA, MAFF, CMEA
Jeff Harwell is the managing Principal of Harwell & Company.
Mr. Harwell earned his M.B.A. from the Neeley School at Texas Christian University and holds the professional designations of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF), and Certified Machinery and Equipment Appraiser (CMEA).
Mr. Harwell’s experience includes valuation for the purpose of merger and acquisition, divorce, tax matters related to gift and estate, shareholder disputes, expert witness testimony, exit planning, lost earnings and economic damages, personal injury, wrongful death and termination, fraud, and asset tracing. Complimenting his valuation experience, Jeff served as a public company financial executive, turnaround and operations consultant, private company president, and owner of a successful start-up manufacturing and distribution company.
Mr. Harwell is an experienced and accomplished speaker, presenter, and instructor. He has taught at the university level as an adjunct faculty member and is a frequent speaker and presenter at educational meetings held by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts and its State Chapters.
Mr. Harwell was awarded the Outstanding Member Award by NACVA in 2012. He is a member of its Standards Committee and State Chapter Committee, as well as the Education and Quality Assurance Board and Ambassador’s Editorial Board. He is a frequent author of business valuation articles and training presentations. As State Chapter President of Texas, Jeff Harwell was awarded NACVA’s State Chapter President Leadership Award in 2009 and was a State Chapter Committee Honoree in 2010 and 2011.
